Positive psychology and the PERMA model

Positive psychology is the scientific study of human strengths, wellbeing, and flourishing. The PERMA model—Positive Emotions, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, and Accomplishment—provides a framework for enhancing happiness, resilience, and overall quality of life. By cultivating these five elements, individuals can improve mental health, strengthen relationships, increase life satisfaction, and achieve meaningful personal and professional growth. By 2027, research continues to demonstrate that PERMA-based interventions effectively reduce stress, improve emotional wellbeing, and enhance performance across healthcare, education, and workplace settings. Emerging innovations, including artificial intelligence, digital mental health platforms, and mindfulness-based interventions, are further expanding access to personalized wellbeing solutions and promoting healthier, more resilient communities worldwide
