Positive psychology and the PERMA model

Positive Psychology is the logical investigation of the qualities that empower people and networks to prosper. The field is based on the conviction that people need to lead meaningful and fulfilling lives, develop the best within themselves, and enhance their encounters of worship, work, and play.

PERMA is short for a prosperity model established by a pioneer in the field of positive brain science, Martin Seligman. As Seligman indicates, PERMA forms five squares of significant structure of prosperity and satisfaction:

  • Good feelings - feel better  
  • Commitment - be totally dedicated to the exercises
  • Connections - being truly associated with others
  • What it means deliberate - presence
  • Achievement - a feeling of accomplishment and accomplishment
