Paris, dubbed the City of Light (la Ville Lumière) and the cosmopolitan capital of France, is one of Europe's largest cities which has the well-deserved reputation of being the most beautiful and romantic of all cities, brimming with historic associations and remaining vastly influential in the realms of culture, art, fashion, finance, science, diplomacy, commerce, food and design making it the most popular tourist destination in the world with 45 million tourists annually. Climate: Being located in Western Europe, Paris has a maritime climate with cool winters and warm summers. Summers in Paris are warm and humid, spring and fall are normally cool and wet.

Health care: Health care and emergency medical service in the City of Paris and its suburbs are provided by the Assistance publique – Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP), a public hospital system that employs more than 90,000 people (including practitioners, support personnel, and administrators) in 44 hospitals. It is the largest hospital system in Europe. It provides health care, teaching, research, prevention, education and emergency medical service in 52 branches of medicine. Paris is the department with the highest proportion of highly educated people and has retained its importance as a centre for education and intellectual pursuits with several academic libraries and archives.
